Military Appreciation Day at the Rodeo

Who: All Military Members and their families

What: Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Armed Forces Appreciation Day (AFAD). Eat a free BBQ meal, receive free carnival tickets, and enjoy the Rodeo and a free Alan Jackson concert.

When: Wednesday, February 27th, 2013 Where: Reliant Stadium and The Hide Out. (The Hideout is the big white tent located on the east side of the Reliant Astrodome in the carnival area)

How: Like years past, we have preferential access to tickets. All service members (SM) and their families are invited. The SMs MUST be in uniform. This is so the community can express their appreciation for them.

There are two very important time hacks listed on the program: 1200-1900 - first come first served ticket distro at The Hide-Out 1730-1800 - AFAD Welcome Ceremony (Music, Posting of Colors, Joint Enlistment, F18 Flyover)

*** It's important that SMs and their families come to the Welcome Ceremony. Buses will run from five locations throughout the Houston area. Armed Forces members in uniform (providing military ID), their spouse and children under age 18 (showing military ID), and wounded veterans registered with AFAC may park at one of these convenient locations and ride the shuttle to Reliant Park for FREE.

5 p.m. - 2 a.m. Reed Road Park & Ride Lot (Reed Road at Highway 288)
5 p.m. - 1 a.m. South/Southwest Houston Location: Aramco Services Company, 9009 West Loop South parking lot
5 p.m. - 1 a.m. Old S1panish Trail - Smithland's Lot Park & Ride Lot 2103 South Braeswood (Old Spanish Trail at North Stadium Drive)
5 p.m. - 1 a.m. North/Northwest Houston: Delmar Stadium, Highway 290 @ Magnum

*** These busses drop off right at The Hide Out, where your SMs and dependents can get their meal, carnival tickets, and rodeo/concert ticket.
