Summary of the Defense Strategic Guidance
With the ringing in of the New Year, President Obama’s administration is seeking to chart a new course for national security with the recently released Defense Strategic Guidance (DSG). In an effort to protect the US’ economic viability, President Obama has asked for a smaller, leaner force to protect the interests of the US. Below is a summary of the DSG’s main points, followed by an analysis of the implications of the DSG for national security.
