The LSVA Street Team is a group of veterans and family members who want to workout by cruising the streets of Houston on their bicycles. We will have events and rides for all experience levels and participate in local bicycling events.

Welcome the the LSVA Street Team Bicycle Club!

The Street Team is a group of veterans, family and friends who want to workout by cruising the streets of Houston on their bicycles. Bicycling is a healthy, social activity that we want to share with our fellow veterans for fun, camaraderie, and physical fitness.

Street Team rides and events are open to all. We encourage participation by riders of all levels of fitness and ability. All types of bicycles are welcome and no one will be left behind. All official club events will be held in various locations in and around the Houston Metro area.

All Street Team rides and events will be posted here, in the Events section, and on the LSVA Facebook page. Check back often for updates!

Social Rides
    Regularly scheduled social rides. Easier, slower paced rides for fun and camaraderie, often involving stops for food and beverages. Exploring different areas of the city, historical sights, parks and local events.

Family Rides
   Regularly scheduled family rides. These will be held in local parks and areas that provide amenities for children such as playgrounds and waterscapes. We'll get the kids out on their bikes followed by play time in the parks and pot-luck style picnics.

Fitness Rides
   Regularly scheduled fitness rides. These rides will be longer and more challenging in order to build fitness, endurance, and strength.

Local Bicycle Events
   The Street Team will participate in local charity and social rides hosted by other organizations such as MS150, Bike to Build, Bike for Little Heroes, etc.

Informal Group Rides
    These rides will be scheduled and coordinated by the club members amongst themselves. As the club grows, more members that ride regularly can post their rides and encourage others in their local area to join them. This will provide an opportunity for riders in similar geographic areas to gather more often with less travel. More information to come.....

Bike Shop Support, Clinics, Education
    We are developing programs with local bike shops to support our club. These programs will include discounts on bikes and accessories, clinics on bike maintenance, changing a flat tire, basic physical fitness and training routines, racing, touring, commuting and many other topics.

Safety is our number one priority! All participants will be expected to wear a helmet, adhere to the 'rules of the road', and to conduct themselves in a safe and courteous manner that reflects positively upon themselves, the Street Team, and all bicyclists. Share The Road applies to all.

If you or someone you know is interested in participation with the Street Team but they lack the equipment, a bike, a helmet, or are just not sure about bicycling in general, send us an e-mail and encourage them to attend an event. We're here to help and to encourage new members to discover the joys of bicycling. We have loaner bikes, helmets, and other gear as well as resources to help. Contact us!
